As part of the Access to Justice programme, a para-legal volunteer today participated in the proceedings of the Lok Adalat held at the District Court to gain a deeper understanding of its functioning and procedures. This visit was aimed at familiarising the volunteer with the alternative dispute resolution mechanism and enhancing legal awareness at the grassroots level. Through the continued efforts of Sangini, women from the community are regularly being exposed to various institutional frameworks, including the police department, Women and Child Development services, and legal aid mechanisms. These exposures are instrumental in empowering them with knowledge of their rights and the means to seek redressal, thereby strengthening their access to justice and promoting legal empowerment.
