As part of the Jan Kalyani Parv celebrations, a significant initiative was undertaken today through the Ahilya Vahini women’s bike rally, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 81 girls associated with Sangini Srijan under the Community Policing Scheme. The rally aimed to promote women’s empowerment, raise awareness about their rights, and encourage community engagement in creating a safer and more inclusive environment. Riding together through the city, these young girls became symbols of strength, unity, and the growing presence of women in public spaces.
Following the rally, a dedicated session was organised at 12 Number Ambedkar Hall, where the participants gathered for a meaningful interaction. During the session, each girl was given the opportunity to share her personal journey and experiences with Srijan, reflecting on how the initiative has contributed to her confidence, awareness, and overall growth. The atmosphere was filled with inspiration as stories of transformation and empowerment were exchanged.
Additionally, there was a detailed discussion on the brochure distributed during the programme, which contained essential information related to legal rights, safety measures, and available support systems for women and girls. Special attention was given to explaining each section of the brochure to ensure complete understanding. Participants were also made to memorise important helpline numbers, such as those for police assistance, women’s helpline, and child protection services, equipping them with vital tools to seek help when needed.
The event not only strengthened the girls’ connection with the ideals of justice and safety but also reinforced the importance of awareness, solidarity, and empowerment in building a resilient and supportive community.
